November 2014 according to my iphone

Wow!  November went by in a flash. We celebrated McKinley's 14th birthday. It was Jensen's bday this month too so we sent her a care package of birthday goodies.  I rarely post pictures of our college girl, because she rarely sends them.  But I stole this off of facebook from a picture she was tagged in.  Apparently they went out for a night on the town to celebrate Jensen's bday.  I was happy to see her wearing the leather jacket we sent her in her birthday box.  Along with becoming 14, McKinley now gets to attend our church's dances for youth.  We invited any of the boys and girls from our church congregation ages 14-15 to go out to eat before the dance.  I think they had fun.  Here is the cutest group of 14 and 15 year old that I know.  Get ready for Elder Argyle overload.  (sorry, not sorry!)  I hit the jackpot and got lots of pictures this month.  Here is my happy boy as he enjoys a good home cooked meal from on of the members of the ward

Chicken Pot Pie

Confession time.  I am not a great cook.  I guess I can follow a recipe.  I just don't  LOVE cooking like so many of you.  I do it because it is part of my job description.   There is  ONE thing I cook, however, that my family loves.  I owe this glorious recipe to my friend Kelli Moon, who served it at book club (probably 15 years ago).  She shared the recipe and I have been making it part of my repertoire ever since.  It is Brady's absolute favorite.  I could probably get him to clean the attic and garage with a promise that I was going to make it. Here is the Cast of Characters (ode to Pioneer Woman) -pictured is ingredients for TWO pot pies but ingredients listed are for ONE.  Although. I never make one because it is a great comfort food to take to someone who needs a meal. A Pillsbury Pie Crust 10 oz bag of Frozen vegetables 1/3 C. Flour 1/3 C. butter 1 C. frozen onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1.2 tsp pepper 1 3/4 C. water Can of chicken broth 2/3 C. mi

FOURTEEN To celebrate this gal's fourteenth year with us, I thought I would mention fourteen things about her that you might not know. 1.  Her nicknames are  "bug",  "kiki",  "McKinley Ileney beanie"  and "Kiker bo beeker butt".   I know.  It's weird.   2.  Her middle name, Ilene, comes from one of my very best friends that tragically passed away when she was a young mother.   (Ilene was one of the best ladies I have ever known and each of our kids are named after someone I would like them to pattern their lives after.) 3.  She plays guitar. 4.  She plays the ukele. 5.  She plays piano,   (not proficiently because she moved on to guitar, but some.) 6.  Her favorite person in the whole wide world is her older brother, Tanner.   ( She pretty much worships the ground he walks on.) 7.  She prefers "indie" music to top 40. 8.  One Direction is the exception to that rule, she loves them. 9.

October 2014 according to my iphone

It was one of my favorite times of year!  General Conference!  I made conference packets for my primary class and got these cute conference journals for the ladies I visit and the families that Brent home teaches in preparation for General Conference.  McKinley and her friend, Caty, made the middle school web page with Dr. Watkins, our Superintendent.  Here is a picture of our special Halloween care package we sent Tanner.  He said he has gained 10 lbs!  Went to a haunted house with some fun couples.  Here is a picture of the ladies.    Tanner had his first baptism.  PTO put on our first big event of the year, the homecoming tailgate for all 1049 kids.  Cheer, cheer, and more cheer filled up many squares on our family calendar,  And the other remaining squares on the calendar were filled up by these cute basketball players that Brent coaches. So grateful for these sweet ladies that help me serve athletic meals each and every week to 200 hungy foo
