July According to my iphone

We had a great July!  This was my favorite quote of the month.
Reagan and I had a quick lunch date while we were out running errands one day.
And the whole family had a Saturday lunch outing to McAllister's while we were out and about.  Gotta love those $1 kid's meals.
McKinley sprained her ankle pretty bad one night at the trampoline park.  Feat your eyes on this guy!  Doesn't that look horrible?  Fortunately, it only lasted about 4 days and then she was back to her old self again.
Brutus says that July is just too hot to do much more than lay around the house in the air conditioning and nap.
The week before Jensen came home from BYUi, there was a horrific flash flood that caught the campus off gaurd and flooded alot of the buildings at school.  Fortunately, she lives in an apartment off campus and none of her things were ruined.  Her is a pic once of her roommates posted of them dancing in the rain.  Grateful she was okay.
We went to the Sherman pool one day.  That is always on our summer bucket list.
Had a pool party for my sweet CTR7 class.

 Celebrated Brent's 47th birthday.
Went to the temple several times with this kid.

Brent continues to do well at work.  He was grateful to close a deal this month that he has been working on for awhile.  It took a lot of pressure off of him to get that thing signed.  Church continues to require a lot of his free time but he loves meeting with the people of our new stake.

Jensen is home and we are so glad we get to have her here for 7 weeks.  Unfortunately, we weren't able to go on a family vacay this summer because there were only 11 days that she AND Tanner were going to be  home at the same time.  I was hoping that we could escape to Sea World and San Antonio (our favorite!) for a quick trip but Brent's parents came to visit the weekend before Tanner left and between them coming, the open house, his farewell talk, and being set apart - there was no time.  I'm still pretty bummed about that. We will have to make up for it when he comes home and go on a good vacation in 2 years.  We are also planning to take off for somewhere once Jensen comes home at Christmas.

Jensen announced that she is making plans to do a study abroad program in 2015, perhaps to London England.  So happy for her.  She is teaching lots of swim lessons and working part time at Old Navy to gear up for next semester.  She is here until mid September.

McKinley, Reagan, and Brady continue to spend every day with friends, swimming, and sleeping in.  It has been a very relaxing summer.  They were all super bummed when the school supplies started to appear in all the stores.  That mean the start of school is just around the corner and the fun comes to an end.  But we are grateful for the remaining month to enjoy time together as a family.

I am in deep with PTO and cheer responsibilities.  I guess I'm glad since my heart will be heavy now that Tanner is off to the mission field.  I love that boy more than life itself.  I feel like a piece of my heart went right along with him.  Being engaged in things helps distract me (at least for a little while, anyway) from how much I miss him.  We work all their lives to prepare them so that they can leave our homes and be successful contributing adults but it sure hurts when they fly the nest.
