Oh! how I love him...

Happy Birthday to my favorite 15 year old in the whole wide world.

Cheer 2010

This past fall I coached a cheer squad made up of Reagan and McKinley's friends. Six 4th graders and Six 3rd graders. They were the sweetest, cutest, funnest bunch of girls and we had such a good time. It was a lot of work but I think it was a memory that my girls will remember forever. Here are some pics from our photo shoot last month and throughout football season.

FHE idea: Living after the manner of happiness

2 Nephi 5: 27 "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness." Those were Nephi's words. Why? What were they doing that made them live happily? If you go back and start with vs 6 you can see 7 reasons why. This is a great FHE activity. See if your family can find them. (vs. 6) Wherefore, it came to pass that I, Nephi, did take my family, and also Zoram and his family, and Sam, mine elder brother and his family, and Jacob and Joseph, my younger brethren, and also my sisters, and all those who would go with me. And all those who would go with me were those who believed in the warnings and the revelations of God; wherefore, they did hearken unto my words. (they were together with their families)

7 And we did take our tents and whatsoever things were possible for us, and did journey in the wilderness for the space of many days. And after we had journeyed for the space of many days we did pitch our tents.

8 And my people would that we should call…

IF I Lived in utah this is where I would be on September 30th

homecoming 2010

makin' mums

Lindsey and Sharon (the best aunts in the world) helped me put some beautiful homecoming mums together for the girls this weekend. We had a nice mum-making weekend while all the boys watched football and went out on the boat with the kids. It was so fun. My sister, Lindsey, really out-did herself on Jensen's mum.. Granted, jensen will have to go see the chiropractor first thing Saturday morning after wearing her mum all day....THAT SUCKER IS HEAVY but it was GREATLY appreciated.

Sharon did a great job on Reagan's mum.

your welcome

This is how I keep my sanity in the morning,
When it is time to pack up lunches...

We call them the
"lunch-on-the-go baskets"

It goes a little something like this:

(today, I am a little low on treats but you get the idea)

It doesn't matter if you are a 5 year old or a 10th grader, you can pack up your own healthy lunch any day of the week with these simple instructions. Because I have 5 school kids that prefer homemade lunches, it can get a little crazy.

It could help you maintain your sanity every morning too.
Your welcome :O)

purely for posterity

First Day of School 2010-2011

McKinley, 4th grade

Reagan, 3rd Grade

Tanner, 9th Grade
Brady, kindergarten

a last, fond look

Before we pack lunches, set out clothes, and set our alarms for an early morning wake-up time; we would like to reflect back on summer 2010. So "let's get crackin'..."

Dinner at joe's Crab shack in San Antonio was a highlight.
Everyone liked the 4D movie at Fiesta TX too.
We spent countless hours by the pool.
Cheer camp was a blast.
Jensen and Tanner had the time of their lives at EFY in Provo on the BYU Campus. Seriously folks. That was the best 1,000 dollars we spent all year. It made a huge impact on both of them.

Fun with Scooby Doo!

Gotta love some roller coaster action.
Reagan and Brady won these capes at the midway in San Antonio.

We caught some shows at Sea World

more rides at Sea World...

All in all it was great fun. The end.
