I want to go back and get my masters degree in the next few years (When Brady starts kindergarten) and specialize in counseling for women so that is why I read this book. Maybe someday I will write a paper about it-it was THAT good. It has information in it to help women who suffer from "perfection deception" - as it is coined in this book. Honestly, I think we can ALL benefit from parts of it. Specifically she identifies several areas where we (women) typically expect too much from ourselves: our appearance (weight), our homes (Martha Stewart comparisons), our job performance, parenting, and relationships with others. She helps by offering hands on tips on how to overcome anxiety, recognize destructive thinking, relax more, use cognitive therapy to re-set expectations and let things go. If you are scared away by the term cognitive therapy - don't be- she uses layman's terms to explain it in detail so that you can understand it better. I don't know that I have ever met a woman who didn't need to be a little easier on herself in some way or another.

I am definitely marking this one down on my list. Have you ever read Sheri Dew's "No Doubt About It"? I remember reading it in college and feeling like it too was quite a motivational, easy read (directed towards women). LOVED it.

Good for you about the Masters! Before I came out about being pregnant with Leah I worked full-time for BYU...and they offered me a full fellowship to get my MBA/MPA at the college. And we could travel which is what Dan and I love to do...but the timing was wrong. And to be honest, I have A.D.D. Not really, but my spectrum of interests is WAY too broad to narrow it down to one subject I think. Problems? Yep. Hey, maybe I can be one of your patients? :)
